You are eligible if you
have all (one or more?) of following:
* At least $10,000 in eligible loans.
* Never consolidated your loans.
* New loans to add, Loans that are deferred, Loans being actively
repaid, or in a state of forbearance, or in a grace period following graduation.
* "Out-of-school" loans (e.g. if you are a parent with loans,
you can consolidate 91 days after disbursement. If you are student,
you can consolidate after graduation.)
Which loans are eligible for consolidation?
Any one of the following loan types qualifies:
* Student Loans (GSL)
* Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans
* Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans
* Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans
* Federal Supplemental Loans for Students (formerly Auxiliary
Loans to Assist Students (ALAS) and Student PLUS loans)
* Federal Perkins Loans, formerly National Defense/National
Direct Student Loans (NDSL)
* Health Professions Student Loans, including Loans for
Disadvantaged Students
* Federal Insured Students Loans (FISL)
* Federal PLUS (Parent) Loans
* Direct PLUS Loans
* Subsidized Federal Consolidation Loans*
* Direct Subsidized Consolidation Loans*
* Unsubsidized Federal Consolidation Loan*
* Direct Unsubsidized Consolidation Loan, including Direct
PLUS Consolidation Loans*
* Federal Nursing Loans
* If these loans have never been consolidated or, in case they are,
they must have another eligible loan separate from the consolidation
set of loans.
